genshi.edgewall.org janitors wanted

Hello,

Perhaps due to the progress of the spam bots, more some spam go through
and land on http://genshi.edgewall.org. I was wondering if I could find
on this list people interested in helping out to keep the site clean.
I'm sure Christopher will be OK if a few more trusted people get
additional rights on the g.e.o Trac. Currently, there's only cmlenz,
jonas, mgood and athomas listed there, none of them still active on the
project.

This shouldn't be much work on your side, just get your newsfeed reader
pointing on the g.e.o timeline and either "delete version" of polluted
Wiki page (quite rare), or delete comments or even whole tickets for
ticket spam (a few per week).

Besides helping to keep this Trac instance clean, you might stumble upon
interesting bug reports and enhancement patches, which will perhaps make
you interested in maintaining Genshi itself ;-)

Done. Already reading the timeline feed. Actually I think I already
found some spam tickets: #417, #418. Please take a look.

You can count on me to help fighting spam.

So there was quite a bunch of you, I'm positively impressed ;-)

It was a no brainer to add hodgestar to the list as he already had an
edgewall account. However the other replies came from people relatively
less known on edgewall.org, so I selected those who already had created
tickets and/or proposed patches on g.e.o.

Thanks to all of you!

I don't appear to be able to login to the Genshi Trac instance. Of
course I could just be messing something up on my side but I thought
I'd check before investigating further.

I know you've already gotten a number of help offers. I will offer help of a different kind.

Basically I would propose a project to check the timeline and use a text classifier to do the work. I'm sure the current offers would be better at checking spam than I would. I'm lazy so I automate everything I can with python scripts :-)

Basic setup, use CRM114 as a classifier (I use if for spam filtering on my sites).
I have a python wrapper for crm114 on my site. That makes it a slam dunk to use for any text classification job.

If you have a backup with some "old" spam that would help in training.

I could:
a) run it all from my site as a set of python scripts
b) convert it into a package that could be run on ANY trac site (I am a trac user )
c) (eventually) integrate it into trac as a plugin that would do the filtering to quarantine suspicious messages for moderation BEFORE posting so the janitors can sleep in and not awaken to offensive spam posted in the dark of night.

The current trac instance uses SpamBayes/Akismet via
